Blu Eye Extinction is a NYC funk fusion band bringing high-impact hip hop, rap, rock, jazz and funk to concert stages around the world. Created by core members of the band formerly known as Miss Velvet and The Blue Wolf, their debut self-titled album was recorded at Dreamland Studios in Hurley, NY, January 2022 and Ashville, NC’s Echo Mountain Studio. The album was released digitally on February 9th 2023 with the vinyl release scheduled for May 19th.

“Waves of Time” marked their first single and video release with a May 2022 UK tour with their mentor George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic.

They joined the One Nation Under A Groove tour with Joys of Pimp Time, Dopapod, The Motet and George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic which kicked off at NYC’s Summerstage, bringing the funk to 29 US cities thru Labor Day 2022.

Blu Eye Extinction ended 2022 with the funkmeister and his band w/ special guest Mono Neon celebrating at Sony Hall, House of Blues Boston and NYE at The 930 Club Washington, DC. They started off 2023 w/ a West Coast tour of House of Blues Anaheim, Phoenix, Las Vegas, and wrapped up on March 2nd 2023 at Hard Rock Live! Sacramento, California. They will continue to tour summer 2023 with Fishbone, Dumpstafunk and Parliament Funkadelic.

Each member a producer and composer in their own right, James Jones – bass & vox; Constance Hauman – keys & vox; Henry Ott – guitars; TJ Robinson – trombone, percussion & vox; JS Williams – trumpet & vox; Joshua Keitt – drums, brings their diverse musical backgrounds to create a fresh and exciting sound influenced by their love for and the legacy of George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic.

“During their set, they amalgamated funk, rap and rock in a fashion that honored the man of the evening (George Clinton) and surely convinced many to look into their upcoming LP.” — Relix Magazine

“Blu Eye Extinction is the band to keep your eye on this year.” — George Clinton

“The New York-based Blu Eye Extinction is a funky fusion band of Hip Hop, Rap, and guitar-driven Rock. The group was formed by core members of the band formerly known as Miss Velvet and The Blue Wolf. The band launched into an explosive performance encouraging the crowd in the cavernous theater to get up and dance. The music shifted in both style and volume from the earlier acts. The New York fusion ensemble featured James Jones (bass), Constance Hauman (keys), TJ Robinson (trombone/percussion), JS Williams (trumpet), Henry Ott (guitar), and Joshua Keitt (drums) as the core band.” — Grateful Web
